Flank Steak Teri-Yaki

  • 1 1/2 lbs. beef flank steak
  • 1 cup beef bouillon, or 2 beef bouilloncubes dissolved in 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp honey

Serves four to five

Remove fat and gristle. Cut steak into 1 inch squares. Combine all remaining ingredients and marinate meat about 24 hours. Remove, drain, and thread on skewers. Broil about 4 inches from unit for 4-5 minutes on each side or till browned. Try barbecuing on grill outdoors, too!

Martha Suzuki, and her husband, have been members of All Peoples Christian Church in Los Angeles most of her life. Their relationship with the congregation began with All Peoples Christian Mission when its ministry was with Japanese emigrants. It has blessed them and they have blessed it, and this whole church. This recipe is an old one from the CWF at All Peoples in the 1950's. It came into our hands because another great west coast Disciple, Harold Horn, of Fullerton (Calif.) First Christian Church, saves everything!
