2010 Resources: The Welcome Table for a Fragmented World
In this packet you will find resources for planning Laity Sunday in
conjunction with the Week of the Laity, January 24 to 30, 2010, although the resources are designed so that they may be used at any time of the church year that best fits your congregational needs and planning.
Once again we have linked our materials to our General Assembly. The 2009 General Assembly brought us the theme, For the Healing of the Nations (Revelation 22:2), connecting Disciples to the identify statement: "We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As members of one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us." This year's materials draw their theme from the second part of the statement and the idea of God's "Welcome Table."
