Meet the 2007
Week of Compassion/Disciples Home Missions Interns
Disciples Home Missions has 13 interns serving in
Appalachia, Southwest Good Samaritan Ministries, and Disciple
Mission Centers around the nation. Home Missions Interns
host local congregations participating in Volunteers in
Mission worktrips. Additionally, they serve their country
as AmeriCorps members and earn education grants through
their service this summer. There is a great need for leadership
development in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Home Missions Interns receive the training and experience
to make a difference in the world by revealing the light
of Christ and by strengthening local congregations. This
program is sponsored in part by the Week of Compassion.
