This year, many groups want to go to the gulf coast to help our brothers and sisters whose lives have been devastated by hurricanes. Other groups will be going to Florida to help with the continued work at rebuilding after hurricanes there last year. There are many issues specific to leading a disaster response work trip that your leaders may not have thought of. Send your trip leader on this training trip so that they can hear about & experience first hand the specific issues they will face on their trip. We’ll focus specifically on how to lead a disaster related work trip.
What IS a Leader Development Work trip?
It’s a chance to learn HOW to lead a trip by experiencing a small scale trip.
In addition to experiencing a work trip, you will receive training on how to plan for and implement a trip of your own. You’ll receive a copy of the Get Dirty for Jesus Manual with step by step instructions for leading mission trips. You’ll sleep on the floor, eat group meals, break up into groups to work, plan evening worship and more.
Who goes on a Leader Development Work trip?
Those who plan to lead work trips to the Gulf Coast (you’ll be much more prepared)
Youth leaders, ministers, church leaders of any kind who ever lead work trips
Seminary students who are or will be pastors in congregations
