Disciples Women

Woman-to-Woman Worldwide

Woman-to-Woman Worldwide (WWW) is an opportunity to personalize mission in the life of congregations and regions.

Woman-to-Woman is sponsored by the International Disciples Women's Ministries and administered through the Office of Disciples Women, a ministry of Disciples Home Missions, in conjunction with the Division of Overseas Ministries.

Woman-to-Woman responds to the call for church women to experience solidarity with one another, to affirm the unity of the church in Jesus Christ and to join the common struggle for justice and peace in the world today. These international, ecumenical and personal experiences encourage faithful women to see the world through new eyes and bring that perspective back to their congregation and community.

Woman-to-Woman is designed to establish a network of "growing concentric circles of world proportion." T.J. Liggett

How my life has been impacted

"These presentations have been a wonderful experience for me. I have felt so welcomed, as I met new people at new churches. I enjoyed their interest and their hospitality. I was amazed at their generosity! Many of them gave me travel money and generous offerings and checks. My own church has held several fund raisers dedicated to Kenya Wells.  I have put everything I received into an account and will soon be mailing a check for $1,720 to go to Kenya Wells.

"After I gave my first presentation at the Region of Mid-America cabinet meeting, the decision was made to make "Wells for Kenya" the regional service project for 2005-2006. I will have to let you know later the dollar amount that project has risen for wells! Our Ozark Lakes Area here in Missouri contributed $13,756.79 in 2006 and $5,000 in 2005. I will continue speaking whenever asked--water is life! My journey to Kenya was a life-changing experience."

—Macanna Murray, Nixa, Mo.
Kenya, 2004

"Everywhere, we were surprised by joy and inspired by hope growing out of despair. Our new friends taught us deeper meanings of both Crucifixion and Resurrection."

—Lorraine Lollis
Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Nicaragua

"From first hand experience, I now am more aware of the challenges of life in other parts of the world - not as a tourist on the Caribbean gold coasts, but as it really exists."

—Julie McVicar Compton
Caribbean

"The feeling of being an outsider occurs often now in my life as I find people want to become isolationist and have no tolerance for people who are different. I find myself praying in order to bring about world peace."

—Lanna McGary
Caribbean

"I was personally enlightened along the journey by intelligent, influential women. I was so impressed by their visions and their perseverance."

—Gerry Ritchhart
