2010 Themes

Winter 2010
Breaking the silence about abuse. (Three-session Study Guide is available)  From domestic abuse to human trafficking, how can Christian women stand together to break the silence and stop the abuse of women, children, and men around the world. This issue will include information about the 2009-2010 Quadrennial service project, "Breaking the chains of modern-day slavery," along with stories from the 2008 Woman-to-Woman Worldwide Program trip to Israel/Palestine.

Spring 2010
Journeys through Revelation: Apocalyptic Hope for Today.
A Bible study by Barbara Rossing. This year-long Bible study explores one of the least understood books in the Bible. Although brimming with mysterious symbolism, Revelation ultimately is a book of hope that has sustained people throughout history. In a journey reminiscent of the ancient Israelites' exodus from slavery, Rossing leads readers from an unjust empire through mythical battles to the renewed creation where God lives with us on earth.

Single and satisfied. (Three-session Study Guide is available)
How do singles and married folk engage one another in church and in our culture? What about individuals who have been divorced or widowed? Let's break down some stereotypes and learn about the many relationships around us. This issue will also include information and a country map for the 2009 Woman-to-Woman Worldwide Program trip to Colombia and Venezuela.

Celebrate Quadrennial. (Three-session Study Guide is available)
The celebration of Disciples women's ministries that happens every four years, takes place in June 2010 in Greensboro, North Carolina. This issue will explore the many learnings, joys, and challenges of this remarkable event. Also, the issue will include additional information about the 2009 Woman-to-Woman Worldwide Program trip to Colombia and Venezuela.
