Woman-to-Woman Worldwide 2009 Venezuela & Colombia

On Sunday, November 8, 2009, 12 women from eight regions and two constituency groups had dinner in Miami with trip leaders to begin orientation for the Woman-to-Woman Worldwide 2009 Venezuela & Colombia journey. This trip was co-led by Sheila Spencer from the Office of Disciples Women and Felix Ortiz from the Division of Overseas Ministries. This trip also had the added blessing of Kaye Edwards, Director of Family & Children's Ministries, joining them. Kaye will be using her learnings from this trip to involve the Kids-to-Kids Mission Program in mission opportunities serving children and families in these countries and the creation of a new Vacation Bible School program with a focus in this area of the world.

They departed from Miami for Cali, Colombia, Tuesday morning for several days of in-country meetings with various women's groups. Sunday, November 15, was spent in the closing activities for the Women's National Encounter in Venezuela. The balance of the Venezuela time was spent meeting with various women's groups. As always, the group found time to support the local economy.
