Sexuality Education Resources

It is extremely important that sexuality education take place within the walls of our churches. Even though we Disciples have not produced our own sexuality education materials, there are many faith based curricula available. As an item for Research and Reflection, Business Item 0730 was assigned to a resource group at the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 2009 General Assembly in Indianapolis, Indiana by the Administrative Committee of the denomination. Per the Special Rules of Procedure for the General Assembly, the Administrative Committee is to determine appropriate future action for such items. It was determined by the Administrative Committee that assigning this item to a resource group in order that the study materials might be disseminated and explored was an appropriate action. To this end, Disciples Home Missions is making the “In Good Conscience” document available to congregations and individuals in hope of further exploration of issues related to the heath of families and women.
