Scott Thayer

Rev. Scott Thayer is a native of Michigan. As an ordained minister he has served churches in West Virginia, Alabama, and California. He has been involved in the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years, serving a variety of leadership roles including subcamp chaplain for four consecutive U.S. National Jamborees and for the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan in 2015. He has also served as interfaith chaplain at the Michigan International Camporee in 2012 and 2016. He is an executive board member of the National Association of Disciples Scouts and Scouters. He currently serves as Chaplain and International Representative for the Ohio River Valley Council in Wheeling, WV and as Relationships Chairperson for Area Four, Central Region of the Boy Scouts of America. Scott is employed by Bethany College as a Lecturer in Religious Studies and as the Interim Director of International Studies. Scott is married to Regina. The Thayers have one son, Michael, 21 years old.
