World Refugee Day

Disciples World Refugee Day Advocacy Toolkit

RefugeeChicagoCWSpartner2In December 2000, the United Nations General Assembly established that “Refugee Day” would be celebrated each year on June 20th, and encourage local communities to select time and ways near this date to honor the strengths and contributions of refugees in their areas.  You’re invited to do the same!  Contact our Refugee & Immigration Ministries office for ideas.

Especially, consider supporting refugees with the power of your advocacy voice.  Learn through our “World Refugee Day Advocacy Toolkit” about how you can especially help support Syrian refugees, persecuted religious minorities, and children fleeing violence in Central America this year.

World Refugee Day is June 20th
