The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.
I feel sometimes if I hear the phrase “in these unprecedented times” again my head might explode. Regardless, even this time last year we had no idea what 2020 would bring. We have changed our lives and how we live them. We have learned many things, some of them uplifting, and some not so much. We have been separated physically from our friends and family. Depression runs wild among us and we have reason to feel like we are in the dark.
There IS Good News! There is always good news. The Word became flesh. The light of all people shines in the darkness. Jesus has become light and life for us in all circumstances and even “in these unprecedented times”. As it was when it was written, it often remains, the world does not recognize the light and instead embraces the darkness.
May we remember despite situations and circumstances, Christ is in the world….bringing light and life. May we celebrate all the light and good and love and peace and joy that God offers.
The Word became flesh and dwells among us.
