Training for Servant Leaders now Available

Disciples Volunteering supports a wide variety of mission opportunities and service projects with congregations, regions, and ecumenical partners. Often, these projects require the presence of trained servant leaders who can be on site for a month or more at a time. These long-term volunteers assist with a wide variety of tasks, from hospitality and registration to shepherding projects, offering oversight, and leading and teaching mission teams as they serve.

Increasingly, our disaster response ministries are a collaboration with the disaster ministries of the Church of the Brethren and the United Church of Christ for facilitating long-term disaster response work. For this reason, we have moved to offer shared leadership training for persons with the gifts, skills, and time for serving in support of mission projects and disaster recovery mission stations.

The next training will take place in Detroit, MI, from Sept. 27 – Oct. 6.

If you have gifts, skills, and the time to offer as a servant leader in support of missions, including disaster recovery, please contact Josh Baird.
