How well does your congregation understand and connect with the community beyond its walls? In a rapidly changing world, effective evangelism calls us to move beyond traditional approaches and discover new ways to build relationships, respond to community needs, and share the love of Christ.
Join Rev. Derrick L. Perkins, Director for Congregational Vitality and Innovation with Disciples Home Missions, and our featured guest, Rev. Dr. F. Douglass Powe, Jr., President of Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mouzon Biggs, Jr. Professor of Methodist Studies for an engaging virtual Conversation Café exploring how Disciples congregations can become more adept at connecting with their local communities.
Together, we will explore how congregations can reimagine evangelism, strengthen relationships with their neighbors, and faithfully respond to God’s call in their local contexts. Through reflection and conversation, participants will be invited to consider how a deeper understanding of their communities can inform meaningful engagement and help their congregations take the next steps toward greater vitality.
Come ready to reflect, share, and discern new possibilities for connecting your congregation with the community you are called to serve.
