October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Justice & Advocacy Ministries would like to take this opportunity to amplify resources from our friends and colleagues at WHOLE Disciples.
WHOLE Disciples Missions is “to help the church, across all its expressions, to recognize its responsibility to help prevent domestic violence as it concerns the elderly, spouses, intimate partners, children and others in the household and the church.”
At the General Assembly in Des Moines, Iowa in 2019 we passed Sense-of-the-Assembly Resolution GA-1928 “A Call to See and Respond to the Crisis of Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence. You can read the full resolution here.
At the General Assembly meeting in Memphis, Tennessee in 2025 we affirmed that commitment when we passed the Sense-of-the-Assembly Resolution GA-2514 “Commitment to the Thursdays in Black Campaign: A Global Movement for a World Without Gender-based Violence. You can read the full resolution here.
