The Office of Christian Education has designed a three-day summer resource with Luis Gierbolini, Chesla Nickelson, Olivia Updegrove and Monique Crain Spells. Taking inspiration from acclaimed book, The 1619 Project by Nikole Hannah-Jones, “Forward Toward Freedom” offers historical accounts of black experiences in America alongside biblical stories that help illustrate consideration of the following themes: freedom of Forward Toward Freedom VBS Resource culture, freedom of body, freedom of mind. Each day in the curriculum offers activities to support learning. You may engage all the lessons or just one at a time over the summer. Download and share “Forward Toward Freedom!” Click Here to download VBS resource.
In recent years, both the Christian Education Ministry and the Family and Children’s Ministry at Disciples Home Missions have produced and solicited Vacation Bible School curriculum. For a complete list of VBS curriculum, visit the Family and Children’s Ministries website.
