Disciples Women GA2019 Service Project

Disciples Women will be supporting Dorothy’s House of Des Moines, IA as our GA2019 service project. They provide a safe place for the practice of life for survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. It is a long term, residential home that provides survivors with the space, resources, and support needed to find their healing journey. Every survivor has a unique set of needs and personal goals. They strive to provide the resources that will most specifically fit her plan.

If you would like to support this project we are asking for grocery store gift cards preferably for Hy-Vee, but all grocery stores in the area are good options. Others suggested are Aldi, Fareway, and Price Chopper. The gift cards will be used for the whole house and not for individuals.  You can drop them off at the Disciples Women booth by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23.

Disciples Women’s Ministries is a conduit for diverse connections empowering each woman to find her voice and live out her call. (Micah 6:8)
As part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Disciples Women welcomes all to the table as Christ has welcomed us. The ministries of Disciples Women are part of the movement for wholeness in a fragmented world by providing opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education, and creative ministries to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the church. Find out more about Disciples Women through the links on the right.
We seek to be a network of women committed to the justice-seeking, compassion-focused mission of Jesus Christ with no membership requirements or conditions.
